Where Hope is Found

On the 50th anniversary of
Waubonsee Community College, Sugar Grove, IL

In the darkness a hungry soul cries out
Yearning yet for more than simple bread.
In the stillness another voice is heard
And in that night they find they're not alone....

In the twilight a family reaches out
For a world among forgotten dreams.
At this moment, to all who seek, we call:
Take one more step to make this life your own.

Always here among you,
We've traveled through the night;
By faith we found a bridge to higher ground.
We ask you now to follow
With heart and soul and mind,
Together to the light where hope is found.

Does it make more sense if I just toe the line;
Accept the place this world has made for me?
Do we have a say at all in what our children find,
In what they seek or what that world might be?

Now so many, by break of early dawn,
Finding things they've sought within their grasp,
May soon remember that truth is also kind,
That future grace can spring from every past.

Always here among you,
We've traveled through the night;
By faith we found a bridge to higher ground.
We ask you now to follow
With heart and soul and mind,
Together to the light where hope is found.
Together we're the light where hope is found.
